Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership


Degree Description
The Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership (MMOL) degree program focuses on the theories, models, research findings, and best practices found in the interdisciplinary, organizational leadership studies field. Although classical leadership theories, models, and case studies are examined, the emphasis of the degree is practical and applied in nature, building cognitive, behavioral, spiritual, interpersonal, and strategic leadership skills that are applicable to the real-world, issues-based experiences of those working adults enrolled in the program. Upon completion of the MMOL program, graduates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and competencies:

1. Identify and apply the major theories, concepts and models which make up the field of organizational leadership, an interdisciplinary study which is grounded in the behavioral and social sciences.

2. Demonstrate an understanding of human behavior.

3. Assess one’s spiritual, ethical, and moral foundation (see course description, MOL 502) in relationship to one’s personal leadership characteristics (see course description MOL 502) and behavior to develop a personal code of leadership.

4. Utilize conceptual, analytical, and critical thinking skills to solve complex problems and develop organizational strategies.

5. Develop leadership skills for multiple applications and adapt leadership models to diverse organizational settings.

6. Use emerging technologies to lead, communicate, share knowledge, and solve problems.

7. Develop written, oral, and electronic skills in interpersonal and organizational communication.
